چکیده

Objective: Mediastinitis following cardiac surgery is potentially devastating complication. Various treatment modalities were suggested for this clinical situation and vacuum assisted closure one of them. In the study it was aimed to compare outcomes performed with instillation non-instillation methods. Materials Methods: From January 2015 June 2019, a total 60 patients who had mediastinitis after via sternotomy included study. Both Group 1 2 consisted 30 whom negative pressure wound therapy without instillation, respectively. Demographic characteristics compared between groups. Results: data similar. Bacteriologic cultures showed presence staphylococci in majority both groups (Group 1, 61.6%; 2, 70%). Duration treatment, eradication infection, discharge statistically lower (p<0.05).
